This show brings together some of the best and brightest of the neo-sofubi and Kaiju toy scene from around the globe. Bright colors, crazy textures, and gruesome details are rendered over soft vinyl, resin, and porcelain.
Toy Art Gallery is proud to present “Vivid Lucid Dream” The Sofubi of Mutant Vinyl Hardcore, Frenzy Bros., and Siccaluna! “Vivid Lucid Dream” offers collectors the chance to see the work and obtain one-of-a-kind vinyl figures from three of the biggest names in the modern soft vinyl toy scene. Distinguished for it’s craftsmanship and quality, Japanese soft vinyl, or “sofubi”, is the medium of choice for Richard Montanari and his Japanese toy brethren Siccaluna and Frenzy Bros.
FOE goes big for their last show at the Pleasant St Location. 3 top indy toy designers from Mutant Vinyl Hardcore (CT), Paul Kaiju (CA) and Elegab (JPN) are teamed up with local favorite Eric Talbot. Expect plenty of illustration, one-offs, mash-ups, short runs and many more surprises.
Co-owner Jim Shea teams up with Michael Nordstrom of Garamania to curate GARAMANIACAL, an homage to the clunky, crusty, fish-lipped, oil-belching, high-rise-wrecking meteorite monster Garamon and his “recycled” alter ego, the friendly and excitable Pygmon. GARAMANIACAL will look at kaiju culture through the lens of these two iconic creatures, presenting information on the characters, the TV shows on which they first appeared, and the visionary artists who created them. As well, the gallery will be filled with an amazing assortment of contemporary art and toys inspired by Garamon and Pygmon.

Each of these artists are trailblazers in the Kaiju-influenced soft vinyl world, and we’re excited to have their signature creations all together under one roof.
